Music album cover
There are photos I take and I just think: "this could be an album cover."
Not just 'cause it looks good, but because there’s a whole feeling in it — a quiet heaviness, a look that says everything.
It’s our streets, our corners, our faces. Vibes we know deep in our bones — even when the world looks past us.
I flip these shots into album covers for records that don’t exist — yet.
Each cover holds a sound I can hear in my head. Sometimes it’s a chopped-up sample, sometimes a dusty beat, sometimes just the wind between two buildings.
It’s how I capture us — our pride, our struggle, our rhythm, our softness too.
I’m a Black woman, I come from this, and I do this for us.
So we can see ourselves the way we really are: powerful, beautiful, layered, poetic.
Not through someone else’s lens — through ours.
